I have also achieved extraordinary transformational results working with complex high needs autistic people – particularly those at the intersection of autism and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
In these cases in the coaching relationship I use a trauma-informed approach (mostly a combination of broadly IFS-style parts work, added to and heavily informed by the flexibility of NLP approaches), along with a rare creativity, and insight into the autistic mind after many years of working with a range of autistic clients. This is of necessity very intuitive and tailored to the individual in such unique and complex cases.
Specific results I have achieved in this area include: devising tailored symbolic communications for the person at an autistic level; massive decreases in trauma based dissociation and derealisation; massive decreases in catatonia and FND body freezes; massive decreases in PTSD flashbacks, and designing a system to help the person manage the flashbacks.
I am very open to working with more clients in these areas, and realise this is likely an underserved niche, so have added a page just for that to aid discovery. Check out the rest of the site for more information about me and my background.
As with coaching, the main pre-requisite is a genuine desire to change, and the willingness to work at it. The process is a bit like climbing a mountain – I can guide you up the mountain, but you have to do the climbing yourself, and this takes effort – you need to need to do it.
And of course good rapport between coach and coachee is also essential. So the first session is as usual free to see if we have rapport.
